8 Division Nigerian Army Foils Lakurawa Ambush in Kebbi, Neutralizes 5 Terrorists

The 8 Division Nigerian Army, led by Major General Bemgha Koughna, has scored a major victory against terrorism in Kebbi State. The GOC’s convoy was ambushed by suspected Lakurawa terrorist Group (LTG) near Mayama Hill, but troops responded with overwhelming firepower, neutralizing 5 terrorists.

A significant cache of weapons and intel materials were recovered, including 1 OJC Gun, 1 PKT Gun, 2 AK-47 Rifles, PKT Ammunition, 12.7mm Ammunition, ₦840,000, 2 Mobile Phones, and 5 Motorcycles.

This operation showcases the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting civilians and eliminating terrorist threats in North West Nigeria. Troops remain deployed, maintaining dominance in the area to prevent further attacks.
