CHIEF OF AIR STAFF STRENGTHENS NAF PRESENCE IN NIGER DELTA

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, has visited Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, to commission key infrastructure projects and reinforce the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) operational presence in the Niger Delta region. During his visit, he engaged with personnel, met with Governor Douye Diri, and inaugurated the Nigerian Air Force Institute of Administrative Management (NAFIAM).

The CAS emphasized the importance of civil-military cooperation in safeguarding the region, stating that the NAF is committed to protecting lives and critical national assets. Governor Diri commended the NAF for its role in maintaining stability and protecting oil and gas infrastructure, and appreciated the establishment of NAFIAM, which will enhance capacity development and cooperation.

The visit included a condolence visit to the widow of the late Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Erujakpo, and a tour of facilities at Headquarters Mobility Command. The CAS commended personnel for their professionalism and dedication, saying Mobility Command is the “logistical engine room” of the NAF.

The NAF Institute of Administrative Management will provide specialized training in administration, management, and public relations, supporting professional capacity building and civil-military cooperation.
