The Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, has commended Nigerian Army troops for their bravery, resilience and dedication in the fight against terrorism, insurgency and other security threats across the country.
He gave the commendation while hosting soldiers serving within Abuja to a combined interfaith breaking of fast at the TA Lagbaja Banquet Hall, Nigerian Army Conference Centre and Suites, Asokoro.
The gathering brought together soldiers of different faiths and coincided with the sacred seasons of Ramadan and Lent.
General Shaibu paid tribute to frontline troops deployed in various operational theatres, including the North-East, North-West and North-Central, praising their sacrifices and steadfast commitment to defending the nation.
He noted that the holy periods serve as reminders of sacrifice, patience, discipline and compassion—values that align closely with the professional ethos of the Nigerian soldier.
The Army Chief emphasized the importance of leadership by example, sound administration and improved troop welfare, urging soldiers to remain resolute and continue supporting one another in the face of prevailing security challenges.

He also reaffirmed his vision of transforming the Nigerian Army into a more professional, adaptable and combat-ready force capable of effectively carrying out its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency security environment.
