The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has escalated its air dominance in the Northeast under the leadership of Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), reinforcing momentum in Operation HADIN KAI. On 11 March, Air Vice Marshal PN Amadi, Chief of Operations, visited NAF Base Maiduguri on behalf of the CAS to assess operational readiness.
Briefings by the Air Component and 105 Composite Group confirmed the Base is fully equipped and mission-ready to sustain high-tempo joint operations. “The Nigerian Air Force remains committed to persistent air presence, precision strikes, and providing the decisive edge that joint forces need to maintain battlefield superiority,” Air Marshal Aneke said.
Strengthening air-ground synergy, Air Vice Marshal Amadi also toured Headquarters Theatre Command, Operation HADIN KAI, underscoring NAF’s seamless integration with surface forces. The CAS added: “Our coordinated operations continue to shape the battlespace, restrict hostile movement, and drive momentum toward lasting peace and security.”
The leadership visits coincided with precision strikes in the Sambisa general area, destroying four enemy gun trucks and critical logistics assets. Executed with accurate intelligence and sustained surveillance, the mission crippled insurgent mobility and showcased the power of intelligence-driven air operations.
Earlier, Air Vice Marshal MC Ekwueme, Air Officer Commanding Tactical Air Command, boosted morale at NAF Base Maiduguri, reaffirming the Service’s commitment to operational excellence and the protection of civilians. Air Marshal Aneke concluded: “The NAF will continue to dominate the air domain, protect communities, and back joint forces in consolidating hard-won gains for lasting national security.”
