Court Approves Three Laboratories for DNA Test in Mohbad Paternity Case

The Ikorodu High Court in Lagos State has approved three international laboratories to conduct DNA testing to determine the paternity of Liam, the son of late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Two of the approved laboratories are located in the United Kingdom, while one is based in the United States.

The issue of Liam’s paternity has been publicly questioned several times by Joseph Aloba, Mohbad’s father. Mr. Aloba has insisted that his late son’s remains will not be buried until a DNA test is conducted to confirm whether Liam is truly Mohbad’s child.

Mohbad passed away on September 27, 2023, and the controversy surrounding his death and his son’s paternity has continued to generate public attention.

At the resumed hearing of the case between Mr. Aloba and Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, counsel to Mohbad’s father addressed journalists, reaffirming the family’s position on the matter.
