The General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Bemgba Paul Koughna, has operationalised the deployment of forest guards in Kebbi State and donated logistics items to support their efforts. The donation includes 10 brand-new motorcycles, 170 sleeping kits, and essential food supplies aimed at improving mobility, welfare, and operational effectiveness in the fight against terrorism and banditry.
During the operationalisation ceremony at Kangiwa, Arewa Local Government Area, Major General Koughna emphasized the importance of teamwork and synergy in defeating terrorism and banditry. He charged the forest guards to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to their responsibilities.
The Kebbi State Government has applauded the Nigerian Army’s efforts, with the Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Haliru Aliyu Wasabu, reaffirming the state’s commitment to working closely with the military and other security agencies to curb criminality.
The donation highlights ongoing efforts to strengthen community-based security structures and consolidate gains against insurgency and banditry in the North-West region.
